New Years resolutions for an elegant life

It’s time to start a New Year 🥳 that means resolutions are in order. I love fresh starts, so creating resolutions is always so much fun for me. That’s why I’m excited to share New Years resolution ideas for creating an elegant life this year.

Why should you make resolutions?

Resolutions are simply goals that you want to accomplish in the upcoming year. You’ve probably heard this quote before, but it continues to ring true. This article says that people who write down their goals are 42% more likely to achieve them.

If you are serious about creating an elegant life this year, making plans to improve yourself is the first and most important step to making it happen.

How to make resolutions

The easiest way to create new years resolutions is to get post it notes and write down a resolution on each note.

Once completed, you should see that your goals can be organized into categories. So you would then create a post it note for each category and organize them.

If you need inspiration for your resolutions, you can use some of the ideas listed in this post.

Your goals should be in alignment with the woman that you want to become this year.

How to use your resolutions

Once you have your resolutions finalized, it’s time to make them pretty! This is where you take your resolutions and create a vision board.

A vision board is a collage of photos that represent the goals that you have. You can create a physical vision board or a digital one.

Elegance

1.Plan a year of elegance 

Elegant living isn’t as difficult as it may seem. The easiest way to become a classy woman is to engage in elegant activities throughout the year.

You can plan your activities at the beginning of the year so that you will be more likely to follow through.

2.Take an elegance course

3.Level up your wardrobe

If you want to become a classy woman, one of the first improvements you can make is your style. Upgrading your wardrobe is an important part of leveling up.

4.Host an elegant event

I just hosted my first get together at my house a few days ago. Now that we have a home that is large enough to have guests, I plan on hosting more get togethers. I know it will be a lot of fun and hosting is a very elegant hobby for women. We get to plan the food, tablescapes, decor, music, and our outfits for the occasion.

Hosting is a fantastic way to get creative in many different ways. Highly recommend.

Health & wellness

5.Start working out

Starting a fitness journey seems intimidating, but once you start working out on a regular basis, you will find it addicting-you won’t want to stop!

6.Try new healthy foods

This was hard for me. Instead of looking up recipes online and trying them at home (I hated it every single time) I started ordering at least 1 healthy option when I go to restaurants. If I like it, I’ll try to re-create it at home.

7.Get your annual health screenings

I know it’s not fun, but part of becoming elegant on the inside means taking control of your health. Make sure you are getting your regular health screenings done. Bonus Tip: Schedule them far enough in advance that you can take one day and get them all done on the same day.

8.Consider starting therapy

I am a firm believer that everyone can benefit from therapy. Life can be stressful and we all have a lot of things going on.

Healing is a vital component of rebuilding your life, and therapy can help with that. It can be costly, so see if your job or insurance can help with the expenses.

9.Get a massage

I don’t get massages often, but I always enjoy them when I do. Especially when I’ve been working a lot and my muscles need extra attention, getting regular massages is a wonderful way to treat your body.

11.Practice mindfulness

I love mindfulness. Ever since I learned about mindfulness, I discovered that it is a very powerful tool to supercharge my overall mental health. If you aren’t aware of mindfulness, it is essentially about the art of living in the present moment. It is definitely worth looking into.

12.Exercise your mind

Start doing puzzles and games that will keep your mind sharp. The older I become, the more I realize how hard it is to give all of the different parts of my body the proper amount of attention. It only takes a few minutes to download an app on your phone and play games.

13.Get out of your comfort zone

Even though I wrote an entire post about this, I feel the need to explain that I didn’t start seeing improvements in my life until I actively worked to step outside of my comfort zone. I was unhappy and stressed all the time and it was because I was staying within my own cycle of toxicity.

The only way to improve the quality of your life is by switching up the things that you do.

14.Create an elegant morning routine

How do you spend your mornings? Are you rushing to get to work? Are you scrolling on tik tok? Creating a morning routine that fits your lifestyle is a goal that we should all have for the new year.

15.Create an elegant night routine 

What you do before going to bed is crucial to creating a more elegant life. I personally like to dim the lights and listen to classical music 15-30 minutes before bed while I do some stretches and wind my body down.

16.Read more books

I am addicted to reading. It all started during lockdown when I needed an escape from everything that was happening around me. I picked up a book and I never put them down. Now I’ve read over 300 books and I think everyone should be reading more books.

17.Become a plant mom

Another hobby I picked up during the pandemic was gardening. I have a container garden at my house and it brings me so much joy every day to watch my flowers grow.

Financial

18.Start an emergency fund

After years of struggling financially, I was able to save enough money for a small emergency fund. It gave me the motivation to keep going and I was able to completely transform my finances. If you don’t have an emergency find or you are

If you aren’t investing your money yet, this is your year. After studying millionaires for two years straight, one of the biggest things I learned about how wealth is created. The secret? Rich people make their money work for them. You can do that as well by investing your money.

20.Get a budgeting app

I use Simplifi by Quicken and it is a wonderful app that helps me manage my money. I have saved so much using this app and I love it.

21.Try a no-spend weekend

Stay home. Read a book. Stay off of Amazon.

Relationships

22.Spend more time with your friends doing meaningful and adventurous things

Try traveling, hosting themed parties, starting a book club, taking photos together, etc. Do things that build stronger connections with your besties.

23.More date nights with your partner

Make a conscious effort to be more adventurous with your dates and how you spend your time together. Get outside of your comfort zone with each other and let loose.

24.Keep in touch with long distance friends/family

Send letters, gifts, emails, and photos directly to your loved ones. Too much is done online these days, never underestimate the power of snail mail.

25.Be more present with your children

It can be hard for parents especially if you work a lot, but try to spend more time with your children and be more present in the moment with them. They only get one childhood so every minute is so precious.
