How to create a wellness plan
Hello my loves! It’s a pleasure to have you here with me today. If you’re new here, my name is Victoria and I help women create extraordinary lives with modern elegance and personal growth. Wellness has been a huge part of my life lately and honestly, I don’t know how I lived my life for all these years without it. Today I’m going to tell you how to create a wellness plan.
What is wellness?
Before we go any further I want to explain exactly what wellness is.
When I was growing up, wellness wasn’t talked about. And from what I hear online, our parents weren’t taught about wellness either.
It was a different world that they grew up in. Wellness has become increasingly popular over the years. I’m seeing it everywhere now which is incredible because it is extremely important.
According to Dictionary.com, Wellness is the quality or state of being healthy in body & mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort.
Wellness can be easily confused with health. The difference between health and wellness is that wellness is when you are intentionally making choices that support good health and well being.
Wellness is multi-dimensional. There are many elements that make up wellness. The most common elements are spiritual, mental, environmental, physical, emotional, and social.
Wellness and elegance…
When I first started my personal development journey, I had absolutely no idea where it would take me.
All I knew is that I was extremely unhappy with my life and I wanted to make permanent changes.
I started with basic personal development, and that motivated me to become a classier, more elegant woman. I wanted to become the highest possible version of myself.
I wanted to be the woman that would make childhood me proud.
This is what led me to elegance. I started my elegance journey knowing that it would help me become more polished, put together, and polite.
But what I didn’t know was that wanting to be an elegant woman would only be the beginning. I became obsessed with not only becoming elegant on the outside, but I also wanted to be elegant on the inside.
I want to have a soul made of flowers, glitter, and sunshine. I want to radiate positive energy, health, and good vibes. I want to live a long, beautiful life full of incredible memories. And slowly but surely I found my way to wellness.
Wellness is a piece in the overall puzzle of becoming the highest possible version of yourself. Once you put your energy into the 6 dimensions of wellness and work on each aspect of your life, you will realize that you will start to glow differently.
Wellness will help you become classier and more elegant because it will be coming from the inside and not just the outside. Anyone can put on a fancy outfit, but not everyone is truly beautiful on the inside.
What is a Wellness Plan?
A wellness plan is essentially a plan that is tailored towards your specific wellness needs.
I created a wellness plan because there are a lot of health and wellness activities that I was interested in but I didn’t really know how to implement them into my life and I also didn’t know how to be consistent.
I would try something like sound healing, love it, and then not do it for a month because I really had no idea how to make it a regular part of my life.
There would always be an excuse as to why I couldn’t do a sound bath.
Then when I was on the way to my daughter’s tumbling class which is once per week, I got the idea to create a wellness plan for myself where I would do the wellness activities once per week, the same way I would if I were physically attending these activities.
I made a list of the things that I needed to do to improve my health and wellness. Then I created a wellness plan.
How to create your own wellness plan.
Step 1: Take a look at the 6 pillars of wellness. Ask yourself what you need more of in your life to start being a better version of yourself.
Is your social life struggling? Maybe plan to spend time with your friends once per week. If you can’t go out, give them a call or facetime.
Do you need to prioritize your physical health? Maybe you should attend a fitness class or work out at least once per week.
Step 2: Find at least 3 wellness activities that you can do each week. This will change over time but try to commit to your wellness plan for at least one month. Four weeks is enough time to see if this is truly working for you or not.
Step 3: Create the plan. I used Canva to create a visual wellness plan. I just used a weekly planner template and filled in my wellness activities. I have it printed out, laminated, and it is on my fridge. This keeps me accountable.
