My 2021 vision board
Last year I shared my vision board with the world. Surprisingly, It went mega viral. I don’t know why exactly, but I was hoping it would motivate people all around the world to create vision boards of their own.
2020 was an incredible year for me. Nearly everything on my vision board came true, and I experienced so many more magical things. Because of the restrictions imposed as a result of the global pandemic, I spend a lot of time at home exploring incredible hobbies that I only wish I started sooner.
I had so many incredible experiences in 2020 that it really raised the bar for 2021. I realized that I needed multiple vision boards for 2021. I don’t want to leave anything on the table this year. I want it all. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
If you have no clue what a vision board is, or how to make one, I encourage you to read this post. I explain in detail what a vision board is, how you can easily make one, and how to use it. I also talk about how to create a vision board during uncertain times.
Now lets get into my vision board. I decided to make 3 different boards. The first board focusing on adventures. Another board with hobbies. The third board is for my health and wellness. If my desires change, I’ll create new boards and add them here.
Adventures
2020 was full of unexpected adventures that taught me lessons I never even knew I needed to learn. In 20201, I want to continue pushing myself outside of my comfort zone.
Ice skating: I have a confession…I’ve never ice skated before. My daughter has wanted to go for a long time but I never took her because I was worried it would be overwhelming since I’ve never skated. But in 2021 I’m just going to go with it. What’s the worst that could happen, right?
*UPDATE January 23, 2021*
I went ice skating! I was nervous before I went but since I was addicted to rollerblading as a child I had no issues whatsoever. I thought I would fall but It was surprisingly easy and I haven’t fallen once.
Trying new food: I used a picture of Pho because I’ve never tried it before and I hear from a lot of people how delicious it is. I plan on trying lots of different cuisines in 2021.
Surfing: Every time I visit the beach, I always think about how fun it would be to try surfing. When I went this past summer, I got up early in the morning and went for a run on the beach. While I was running I saw people taking surfing lessons. I decided in that moment that whenever I make it back to the beach I’m going to book a surfing lesson during my trip. I don’t expect to become a pro surfer, but I definitely want to give it a try.
Visit more gardens: This image is from the United States National Arboretum In Washington D.C. I came across this gem a couple years ago and decided I wanted to go but of course I haven’t gone yet. I don’t live painfully far from D.C. When I do go, I’ll make a day trip out of it.
Ropes course: More outdoor adventures will be happening in 2021. Partly because there are still many restrictions on other activities because of the pandemic, but also because they are fun! I would love to try a ropes course at an adventure park in the spring.
A pink bike: My husband and I have wanted to get bikes for a long time but we just couldn’t justify it. Now that our kids are older we plan on getting bikes and going for long bike rides on the weekend. I would love to have a pink bike with a basket so I can put flowers in it.
Hobbies
Being on lockdown in the spring of 2020 was a blessing in disguise for me. Instead of losing my mind, I started exploring hobbies that I had always wanted to explore. And from those hobbies I learned many lessons. You can hear all about my lockdown experience and the hobbies I started in this podcast episode.
Flower picking: I used to go flower picking a lot but I didn’t get to pick many flowers in 2020. In 2021 I want to spend a lot of time at gardens picking flowers and observing bees. I also want to get a cute basket for my flowers.
Cooking: As I mentioned in the podcast episode, I really got into cooking during lockdown. I missed the banana bread craze that everyone was doing in the beginning, but I caught on in late summer. Now all I want to do is cook from scratch. This year I also plan on supporting local farmers markets and farms by picking my own fruits and veggies and using as much fresh ingredients as I can.
Studying: I want to become more intelligent in 2021, so I decided that I want to study more. It’s crazy because all during school I hated studying. But recently I have fallen in love with certain topics and I want to explore them.
It's never too late to chase your dreams -Victoria Share on XDo random things with my husband that we wouldn’t otherwise do. My marriage is extremely healthy and we are very happy together but we have fallen into a routine and rarely do anything new and exciting if it is something small like face masks.
Be more of a spoiled housewife: I know it sounds terrible of me, but I am a spoiled housewife. I used to work full time but I haven’t had to in many years and I want to continue enjoying my time. I want to be the best housewife ever because I enjoy being a stay at home mom.
Flower arrangements: I was scrolling on Pinterest last month and I came across a cute flower arrangement. One photo turned into dozens and then I realized that as much as I love flowers, I need to learn how to make beautiful arrangements for myself and as gifts for others.
Health and wellness
Fitness: I’ve been on a fitness journey for a while now but I’ve really started seeing results within the past couple of months. The results have me really motivated and I want to fine tune my body and keep fit.
Learn how to do the splits: I’m almost there, I’ve been practicing for a couple of months now. Flexibility training has me feeling more connected to my body. It came with benefits that I wasn’t expecting.
Get into cheerleading: When I was a little girl I always wanted to be a cheerleader. Unfortunately, I wasn’t allowed to be a cheerleader growing up because it was against my parent’s religious beliefs. It was something I forgot about until I started watching the show Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Making the team.
I used to watch it a long time ago but recently I got the CBS app so I can watch all of the new episodes. After watching a few I realized that I loved the show because there is no drama, it is a very feminine and girly show, and because I love their dance/cheer routines.
Now at the age of 30, I’ve decided that I want to get into cheer and dance. The moral of the story here is that it’s never too late to chase your dreams.
Get a hydrafacial: I was supposed to get a hydrafacial on my 30th birthday in March of 2020, but I backed out last minute. I don’t really know why. I think it was because I already had lots of other things planned and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend the money. I want my skincare to be one of my top priorities as I get older so I’m going to do my best to get a hydrafacial this year.
Take my vitamins: I recently cleaned out my medicine cabinets and found vitamins that I hadn’t taken at all and had since been expired. Not anymore.
Meditation: Meditation was another one of the hobbies I picked up during lockdown. If you want to hear more about that, listen to the podcast episode above. Once I got the hang of it, I fell in love with the way I felt during and after a meditation. In 2021, I want to do longer meditations and get my mind into theta state more often.
Well, that wraps up my vision boards for 2021. I can’t wait to see what the new year brings!
