7 Ways classy women invest in themselves

So for the past 2 years I have spent a lot of time studying millionaires and learning how they build and maintain their wealth. I’ve always found it interesting that there are so many lifestyle differences between the super-rich and the not so rich. Millionaires have detailed strategies for their wealth and how they manage their lives.

One thing that I have learned over the years of my research is the importance of investing in yourself. More specifically, investing in your own knowledge and personal growth. I notice that most non rich people who are stuck in life and not moving forward are people who will spend tons of money on a new car, new clothes, vacations and things like that but would never spend money to take a course on financial freedom, investing, or personal development.

Because they neglect to nurture themselves as people, they remain in the same lifestyle and mindset forever. You see, one of the secrets of the super-rich is that they never stop learning.

They are always looking for way to expand their knowledge and grow as a person so they can grow financially. The world’s richest people spend hours a day reading.

The good news about all of this is that the internet has given us unlimited access to all the knowledge you could possibly need. To say that I’ve learned so much stuff from the internet is a huge understatement. I’m going to share with you several ways that you can invest in yourself.

Read…all the time.

I may have mentioned this in previous money posts, but I say it again because it is SO important. The internet has really distracted us from the magic and power of books, but it is very important to start reading if you aren’t already.

Find one good book that you can learn a lot of stuff from and start there. The library is an awesome resource if you don’t want to pay for new books all the time. You should also consider looking for used bookstores in your area.

We have a used bookstore near my house, and they have all the best books for the best deals. You can read tons of books free of charge with amazon prime if you have it.

Invest in skin care and wellness treatments.

My attitude towards wellness treatments has changed drastically over time. In fact, I just returned from a consultation for a package of three microneedling sessions totaling over $1,500.

The Victoria from 8 years ago would have never even stepped foot in the building for a consultation. I didn’t realize that it is okay to invest in myself back then. I have since learned that this is the only body I will ever have in my lifetime, and I need to do my best to take care of it.

This includes facials, massages, and other wellness treatments such as acupuncture, chiropractor, etc.

Take courses

One thing that you should be taking advantage of is online courses. These days, there are courses on just about anything. And with easy to use platforms, an awesome mix of video content and workbooks, these courses are jam packed with extremely valuable information. Sometimes people hold off on courses because they don’t want to pay for them. Some course are high priced but can you really put a price on personal growth and life changing knowledge? I think not. I have an awesome FREE personal finance course that you can get instant access to.

Hire a coach

Coaching is something that I see offered a lot now days and I honestly think it’s brilliant. If you are looking to develop a new skill or improve something you’ve already been working on, I highly suggest hiring a coach. Coaching is a bit different from taking a course because you get more personal and individualized results. This is designed to target your problem areas so you can strengthen them and sharpen your skills.

Travel

An awesome way to invest in yourself it to travel. When you get outside of your comfort zone and experience new things, you are expand your mind through these new experiences. It is important to make travel a priority in life as you can learn so much about yourself and the world through travel.

Learn a new language

I started studying French a couple of years ago as a fun way to expand my knowledge. I love the way I felt after each day when I finished my French exercises. My brain felt more alive and a really felt like I was feeding my mind good things.

I can feel the growth and I love that. Now days there are plenty of ways to learn a new language and my favorite is the app Duolingo.

Invest in your health.

Whatever you do in life, you should remember how important your health is. One thing that I know about a lot of people who aren’t rich, is that they don’t go to the doctor unless they absolutely have to.

They say it’s tool expensive. This is very true, but again, are you really going to put a price on your health and wellness? You should always strive to take the best care of yourself that you possibly can. You can do this in little ways also like changing your diet and starting to exercise.

I recently started my fitness journey and I started to feel better mentally, and physically within the first week. It really changed the game for me. Find ways to take care of yourself and do it. You won’t regret it.
