When I worked at Victoria’s Secret, I spent nearly every day on my feet—moving constantly, assisting customers, and navigating the fast-paced rhythm of retail. It was a chapter filled with beautiful memories and lasting friendships, but it also came with an unexpected challenge.

After long shifts, I began to experience an intense tightness in my legs. The muscles were so tense and uncomfortable that it often disrupted my sleep.

On more than one occasion, I found myself getting out of bed just to stretch—spending five quiet minutes loosening my legs before I could finally drift off.

1.Create a space to stretch.

Since I stretch before bed, I keep a yoga mat right next to my bed so I can roll it out effortlessly whenever I’m ready. Of course, you can stretch anywhere that feels comfortable—even in bed, if that makes it easier to stay consistent.

That said, the floor offers better support and allows for deeper, more effective stretches.

2.Gather your equipment.

You don’t need any equipment to stretch, but sometimes I use yoga blocks and a stretching band when I am doing a deep stretch session. Make sure you have yours accessible.

3.Set the scene.

I love to stretch either by candlelight or with my led nightstand light. It changes colors and I often use blue or purple to help calm and relax me before bed. Additionally, I always have a playlist of calm music as well. This helps me wind down for the night.

This is the video that I started with. It is perfect for busy girls who want to stretch in the morning but don’t have time to do a full session before work, or for those who work a lot and are simply too tired to do a full session before bed.

I love this video because 30 minutes is a good stretch time for me to get a good deep stretching session. It does require some equipment though so if you don’t have these, you can improvise with household items or try one of the other videos.

Here is another video that is perfect if you have a little bit more time. You will feel very refreshed after completing this.

This 25 minute deep stretch is great if you want to also become more flexible.
