Summer Body Secrets: How I leveled up my fitness routine for crazy results

Calling all the girlies who want to get hotter this summer.

I locked in over the winter, stayed consistent, and now I’m at the point where I’m honestly struggling to find my waist. While my results didn’t happen overnight, a few simple changes completely transformed my fitness routine and helped me make more progress than I had in years.

The best part? None of these changes were extreme. I didn’t spend hours in the gym every day, follow a restrictive diet, or give up my favorite foods. Instead, I focused on building habits I could actually stick with.

If you’re looking to level up your fitness routine this summer, here’s exactly what worked for me.

1. I Changed My Diet

Let’s start with the hardest part.

For a while, I worked a job where I was stuck inside the building for nine hours a day. I couldn’t easily leave to grab food, so whatever I packed was what I had available. At first, this felt frustrating. Eventually, I realized it was actually helping me.

Instead of throwing random snacks into my bag, I started packing meals built around protein. I focused on high-protein foods, healthy fats, and lower-calorie snacks that would keep me full throughout the day.

Because I only had access to the food I packed, I naturally started making better choices. There were no spontaneous fast-food runs or vending machine visits. Day after day, I ate the meals I prepared.

It wasn’t perfect, but the consistency added up.

One thing I’ve learned is that your environment matters. When healthy options are the easiest options, it becomes much easier to stay on track.

2. I Started Working Out Twice Per Day

After I left that horrible job, I suddenly had more flexibility with my schedule.

That’s when I decided to experiment with two-a-day workouts.

Now before anyone panics, I wasn’t working out twice a day every single day. I’m definitely not superhuman. Most weeks, I worked out three to five days total, and only two or three of those days included two separate workouts.

But this is where I really started seeing results.

Instead of trying to cram everything into one long workout session, I split things up. This made the workouts feel more manageable while allowing me to stay active throughout the day. I also noticed that I felt more energized, more focused, and surprisingly less overwhelmed by exercise.

Because each workout had a specific purpose, I wasn’t wandering around the gym trying to figure out what to do next. I had a plan and simply followed it.

3. This at home workout is my summer body secret

My morning workouts were usually at-home sculpt workouts. I am absolutely in love with FK Body

I discovered FK body on Tik Tok before they even launched their on demand workouts. I would watch Kelbi take the classes and I knew that it looked like something that I would love to do at home.

Thank goodness a few months Francesca and Kelbi announced they were launching an on demand fitness app. I was immediately in.

These workout have been the best thing since sliced bread for me. For once, I am actually excited to do my workouts! The best part? You can access these workouts for only $22 per month!

If you’ve never tried sculpt workouts before, they’re typically a mix of strength training, endurance, light weights, and high-repetition movements designed to challenge your muscles while keeping your heart rate elevated.

I absolutely fell in love with them. In fact, I cannot shut up about them. I am constantly posting on my socials about how much I love FK Body. And I will continue to do so because I love the workouts so much

The workouts were challenging without feeling intimidating, and I loved that I could complete them from home before starting my day.

They helped me build consistency because there was almost no barrier to getting started. No commute. No waiting for equipment. No excuses. I already had the weights at home because I used them before I started going to the gym. You could even do these workouts without weights if you want!

4. Evening strength training helped me build shape

In the evenings, I focused on traditional strength training at the gym.

This is where I worked on progressive overload and challenged myself with heavier weights.

For me, strength training wasn’t just about burning calories. It was about building muscle, creating shape, and developing a stronger body overall.

One thing I want to mention is that my workouts were never marathon sessions.

Most of my workouts lasted between 30 and 50 minutes.

I think a lot of women assume they need to spend hours exercising to see results, but consistency matters so much more than workout length.

A focused 45-minute workout done consistently will usually outperform a random two-hour gym session every now and then.

5. I Didn’t Skip Recovery

One of the biggest mistakes I used to make was thinking that more was always better.

Now I understand that recovery is part of the process. On active recovery days, I usually did incline walking on the treadmill using the famous 12-3-30 method.

If you’re unfamiliar with it, the workout involves setting the treadmill to a 12 incline, walking at 3 miles per hour, and continuing for 30 minutes. It’s simple, low impact, and surprisingly effective.

I loved these sessions because they allowed me to stay active without completely exhausting myself.Sometimes the best thing you can do for your body is keep moving while giving your muscles time to recover.

Final Thoughts

If there’s one thing I’ve learned during this journey, it’s that results come from stacking small habits over time.

I didn’t transform my routine overnight. I changed my diet, became more intentional with my workouts, prioritized protein, stayed consistent, and gave myself time to improve.

None of these habits are particularly glamorous, but together they’ve made a huge difference.

So if you’re a girlie trying to level up this summer, don’t focus on finding the perfect workout or the perfect diet. Focus on creating habits you can repeat week after week.

That’s where the real magic happens.

And who knows? A few months from now, you might be struggling to find your waist too. 🔥
