Are you a list oriented person? I definitely am. Lists are a life saver when it comes to keeping organized and managing tasks. For as long as I can remember I have been making lists to ensure that I will get all of my chores done and bills paid.

It wasn’t until later in my life that I decided to make lists for other things, such as my favorite movies and shows for my bullet journal. I discovered that making lists was therapeutic for me and now I make them all the time!

In today’s post, I’m talking about happiness lists and why you should make them!

What are happiness lists?

It’s really very simple. Happiness lists are lists that you make where you are listing all of the things that bring you joy. In a world full of trigger warnings that are for negative things, happiness lists are positive triggers that should be identified

3 Reasons to make happiness lists

1. Self Discovery

Something I noticed when I was making my lists was that I was aware of these things that made me happy, but sometimes I would forget about them. It was very nice to see everything in one place.

I created a guide to my happiness that I could use in the future when I was feeling down. I also helped me re-discover myself because I did this in the middle of my life transformation where I was very lost before.

2. It helps you focus on yourself

We live in a world that is made to distract us. Even gas stations have televisions in their gas pumps so that we can be distracted for the 3 minutes that it takes to pump our gas.

When we spend life constantly distracted, it causes us to become disconnected from ourselves. This happens to everyone from time to time, but happiness lists really made me feel connected to my inner self.

3. It’s good for the soul

How long has it been since you’ve nourished your soul? These happiness lists help find happiness hidden in the deepest part of you. It’s beautiful and so much fun!
