11 Lovely things I did in May and June

I’m so excited to share my May/June recap with you! These last 2 months have been a blur of laughter, sunshine, parties, and time with family. I’ve tried new things and had some lovely experiences that I’m excited to share with you. As usual, this post is intended to motivate you and inspire you to start living a beautiful, elegant life.

I had a dreamy picnic

I love picnics and I can say for certain that my picnics get better each year.

I put on a pretty dress and had a cake made just for this picnic. The weather was beautiful and I had a lot of fun. I wanted to make this the most beautiful picnic that I’ve had to date and I’m happy to say that it was successful.

I felt like I was in a fairytale. I’m definitely going to be planning a few more picnics this summer and I can’t wait.

I went to tea with my friends

I’m delighted that my girlfriends and I finally made it to British Tea. We had tried to go before but we had some conflicting schedules. It exceeded my expectations.

We all got dressed up for the occasion and it was a 2 hour experience. I love that we all stepped outside of the usual routine of meeting at a restaurant for dinner.

We opted for the basic traditional tea package which included scones, sandwiches, dessert, and unlimited tea of our choice. I ordered the vanilla bean tea and it was amazing.

I had a tie dye party

Every Spring/Summer I host a tie dye party. I have been doing this with my kids since they were very little and now it has become a tradition. This year the party was at my friends house and I also tried something that I’ve never tried before.

Instead of using the traditional vibrant colors, I used pastel dye for my top. It I love pastel colors and I love the way it turned out! I love Tie dye because no two shirts will ever turn out the same. Plus, I love having a tradition with my kids.

I tried a new food

This was completely random, but one day I was out with me friend and she was telling me about an authentic Mexican restaurant in my town that I hadn’t been to yet. We went and I let her order for me. I decided that I was going to try something new and eat it all.

I’m not exactly sure what this taco is because she ordered in Spanish, but it was amazing and I’m glad I gave it a try.

I cooked a four course dinner

One of the pieces of advice I give to my readers when they want to make their life more elegant is to start coursing out meals. There is no need to rush through your meals. It’s important to slow down and really enjoy your dining experience.

I decided to make a four course dinner and it was amazing.

Course 1: Crab Rangoon

Course 2: Cesar Salad

Course 3: Filet mignon, fried shrimp and macaroni and cheese

Course 4: Vanilla bean scones with blueberry jam

I absolutely loved cooking all of this food and sharing this experience with my family. I’m already planning to do it again very soon!

Went on a scenic train ride

And it was less than stellar. I am all about trying new things so I found a great deal for a scenic train ride an hour from my house.

I was very excited because it would be my first experience on a train and it was a sunset ride so I was looking forward to golden hour and sunset.

The train ride ended up being…not what I wanted it to be. I’m glad that I did it but I would never do it again.

Made a beautiful Strawberry dessert

Every month I take some time to search Tik Tok and Instagram Reels for fun, new recipes and dessert ideas. I love making my cooking more like a restaurant and trying new and creative desserts.

I came across a delicious looking strawberry waffle dessert that I knew I wanted to give it a try. It was easier to make than I thought and my daughter loved it.

I decorated it with flowers from my garden and edible glitter.

Copied a tik tok trend

I spend more time on Tik Tok than I should but sometimes I find inspiration. I came across the trend where everyone brings a drink and dress like their drink.

My friends and I all chose really fun drinks and picked the cutest outfits.

I brought a cotton candy cosmo and wore a pink satin mini dress. I don’t drink alcohol but I took a sip of everyone’s drinks. I had so much fun and it was something that I never would have tried if it weren’t for tik tok!

Spent lots of time at the pool

I decided to get a membership to the pool this summer because it is more cost effective. I’ve been taking my girls every day for a couple of hours.

I’ve been able to relax, listen to my summer playlist, read The Song of Achilles and study French by the pool. In fact, I’m at the pool right now typing out this post.

I’m a Pisces so I love the water and being at the pool makes me very happy. I can’t wait to spend the rest of the summer making memories here.

I read one of my favorite books of all time by the pool and I studied French as well. I also spent a lot of time on the diving board and going down the slide. Sometimes it’s good to be a kid again.

Created a summer playlist

I was bored one day and decided to create a playlist of songs that I will listen to all summer long.

I’m the future when I hear those songs it will remind me of Summer 2022.

I added some new songs and some old songs that I really like. I’ve been listening to the playlist at least once per day and I know that I’m programming memories with the music.

I talk all about creating beautiful memories and triggering them in the future in this post if you are curious to read more.

Purchased an outfit that was inspired by an emoji

I don’t put too much effort into my gym outfits lately. With the constant changing of the trends and the fact that all tops are cropped now I typically just wear a t shirt and workout pants.

I wanted to tap into my creativity a little bit and create a workout outfit that was inspired by something.

I love clouds and find that I’m always gazing at them in the summertime so I pulled my inspiration from the cloud emoji.

I wanted an all white gym outfit. I was pleasantly surprised to find an outfit on Amazon. It looks really cute on me and I love wearing it.

Fell in love with the summer sky

I love summer so much and one of my favorite things about this beautiful, warm season is the cotton candy skies. I love a good sunset but I love it even more when I get a lot of pink and purple in the sky. I’m always taking photos of the sky but so far this one is my favorite.

Final thoughts

It takes effort to create and maintain an elegant lifestyle. Before I decided to make major changes in my life I would have never done most of these things on my list. I was stuck in a place where I was unhappy and unwilling to change.

Now that I’ve made it to the other side I am so happy at the choices I have made for my life and the effort that I continue to make for myself on a daily basis.

I show up for myself and I couldn’t be more proud of this insane progress.

Can’t wait to share more recaps with you. I hope this post inspired you and makes you want to try new things! Thank you so much for reading!

XOXO, Victoria
